Williamstown

We haven't been out for a while, but it was a sunny Sunday, my grants are all done, Debbie's hair was looking nice, Sarah had already had her stay at home day....there were no excuses. Williamstown was in our crosshairs.

Dale's view
The Hobson's Bay Yacht Club. Established in 1888 (just in case you weren't paying attention)
Ferguson St Pier - site of Debbie's camera lens cover vanishing...(actually, it was my camera lens that Debbie had borrowed, but I must say I was very gracious and complained not one iota).
Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale, a tale of a fateful trip
That started from a tropic port about this tiny ship. (apologies to those who have never seen Gilligan's island).
Four beautiful Monaros all in a row
A pavilion on Commonwealth Reserve off Nelson Place
The HMAS Castlemaine - a WW2 minesweeper, built at the local shipyards, now a maritime museum, permanently moored on Gem Pier.
One of Williamstown's many old waterfront buildings - now a restaurant - Remvi by the bay.
The 'former' Royal Hotel, Nelson Place.
A nice little pub "The Stag's Head" on corner Ann St and Cecil St. The poor old 'Stag' is missing an antler, but you can't tell from the photo.
Some typical lovely old Williamstown houses, Cecil St
St Mary's church, primary school, and powerline...Cecil St
A little flash of red and green
Where industry, oil and gulls meet the beach
Williamstown beach. Apparently a nice place to swim, at least back in the 19th century...
The former lighthouse, then timeball tower, on the edge of Williamstown beach
Tanks by the sea...
The Titanic theatre restaurant - formerly the Prince of Wales Hotel. Apparently the sinking of the titanic is reenacted, complete with music, dinner and dancing. We avoided the temptation.

Richmond

We've been to Tigerland (at least some of it...Richmond that is). Its a big suburb, we had two special guest photographers (Robyn and Stephen), who put on such a nice lunch that we nearly didn't get out of their Richmond based apartment! We managed to cover the parkland beside the Yarra river, Swan st and Church st up to Bridge Rd. Much more to see, we didn't even go past a vietnamese restaurant! That will have to wait for Richmond 2.

RICHMOND
Sarah's view
Little green leaves green green every where

Big spikey monsters grabing you

To me this looks like a star

Cracks every where

Lots and lots of bricks

First is the nice green grass and second is the hard bike  path and third is the wet water

wow a train going up hill must be hard work

Train tracks

539

That is me in the reflection

One of the most photogenic poles in all of Richmond

A cosy series of Richmond abodes

Note that stylish looking gathering of folks in the reflection

Dimmey's! A Swan Street Icon - you'll not find a cheaper shirt anywhere else in town.

Jim and John - both locals. Jim (red hat) has lived here for 56 years and he is a wealth of information about Richmond - he would have happily given us a tour I think. John was a bit more reserved, and was a little suspicious of why I got so close with my camera. I bet you can find them sitting there every sunday, across the road from Dimmey's.

Spidey and his friend

The Corner Hotel. A former Swan St Live music venue. Now closed down and a shadow of its former self.
Inside one of the Churches (St Ignatius) that gives Church St Richmond its name.

Outside St. Iggy's (is that disrespectful?)

Crystal balls in an orderly dangle in a shop window on Church St.

Overwrought about this one.

Beautiful Crepe Myrtles at St Ignatius Church.

Oh dear, someone is going to be in trouble.
